On this page you can create, deactivate, and reactivate tags. You can also add tags from a space template. On the Space Setup - Tag Properties page, you can associate an icon to be displayed with tag when they appear on an article, and a description, which appears in the tag chooser and in views of the tag.
Creating a New Tag
Labels can be used for many How is information organized in Traction TeamPage, such as tracking priority and status, organizing articles in a taxonomy, and determining where to display articles in views like the Front Page and Space Dashboard.
What characters can I use in tag names?
tags can be made up of the following characters:
Letters and numbers from any UNICODE alphabet, including Japanese, Cyrillic, Greek, etc.
Spaces
Underscores "_"
Dashes "-"
Colons ":"
Currently tags can not include periods or other punctuation characters.
Colons are used to designate hierarchical tag names in Traction. For example, Auto:Fuel, Auto:Insurance, and Auto:Service are treated specially in a number of ways; the Rapid Selector can do special wildcard matching on labels, e.g. Auto:*, and skins may display hierarchical labels formatted in a tree.
Adding a Tag
To add a new tag, type the name of the tag you want to create into the Add a new tag field and press +).
When you press +), the new tag will appear at the top of the Active Tags list.
The tag will not actually be created until you press the Apply button at the bottom of the page. This allows you to create several tags at once, and to reconsider your new tags' names before they're finally created.
Deactivating Tags
Tags, once created, occupy a primary place in the Journal's audit trail. Tag can not be "deleted" or renamed, but they can be deactivated. Deactivated tags will still appear on articles to which they have been attached (unless the Reclassify | Change Labels (tags) - on Articles or Paragraphs interface is used to remove the tags from the articles). However, deactivated tags will not be available in the label chooser interface.
To deactivate tags, select the tags you would like to deactivate from the Active Tags list.
Then click the (- button to move the labels to the Inactive Tags column. The Tags will appear selected.
When you press Apply the tags will be deactivated.
Reactivating Tags
You can select labels in the Inactive Tags column and move them to the Active Tags column by pressing the +). When you press Apply the tags will be reactivated.
Adding Tags from a Template
You can add all the tags from any Space Templates by first selecting the template:
Next you can choose the language; some tags defined in templates are available in multiple languages.
Finally, click the Add button. The new tags will appear selected in the Active Tags list.
You can remove any that you don't want before pressing Apply.
