Title: Space Templates

You will find the Space Templates in the Server Settings > Spaces > Manage Templates page.

Manage Templates

Space templates allow you to collect a common set of tags, Dashboard sections, and other properties associated with a particular type of space, and to create new spaces that take on the template's properties. Tags and sections can be copied from a space template at space creation time, or at any time after.

How to Select A Template

At space creation time, click "More Options" on Add Space dialog.

Add Space

Then select a space template in the drop-down-list.

It defines only one Dashboard section, which is a specific articles section that simply points to the first article in the created project, effectively making Dashboard an authored page that is governed by a single article. In addition, Dashboard doesn't have the page title.

Since Wiki tab (Home sub-tab in Wiki tab) also displays the same article (the first article) as default, you may want to hide Dashboard tab.

Wiki Home

If so, you can do it in "Proteus Space Tabs" in Space Settings > Settings > Display page. Choose "Dashboard" and move it to the left group "Available".

Hide Dashboard

The article displayed in Wiki > Home is defined in "Home Articles" in Space Settings > Settings > Editing page.

This template sets Yes in "Name Articles by Default" in Space Settings > Settings > Editing page. Please refer to Name Articles by Default, Linking to Named Pages, and Page Name Management and Name History for details.

Creating Your Own Space Template

In the Manage Templates page, you can create a new template by copying from an existing template or an existing space that has tags, sections and permissions that meet your needs for the new template, or from a scratch. When you are creating it, or thereafter, you can edit it further as necessary.
