The CFI supports the creation of new empty folders. If you have permission to create a folder, you will see the "Create folder" option in the folder's CFI view:
Just type in a name for the folder you want to create in the folder in which you want it to be contained and press the "Create" button.
Uploading Files
If you have permission to upload files to a folder, you will see the "Add files" option in the folder's CFI view:
You can click the browse button to look for the file you want to upload, or type its path; to upload up to 15 files at a time, press the "(show more rows)" link until you have enough rows. To upload the files you have selected, press the "Upload" button.
Downloading Files
Any file that is visible in a CFI view may be downloaded by clicking on the name of the file, or on the file icon to the left of the file name:
The CFI and the actions listed above are available for both WebDAV and non-WebDAV enabled folders. Not all directories are WebDAV enabled; which directories are under WebDAV control and what that means is covered in the section Where are Files Shared and Managed in TeamPage. When you see the DAV logo in the upper right corner of the CFI view, you know the files you are looking at are WebDAV enabled.
If you're using Microsoft Windows and the directory you're dealing with is under WebDAV control, you will probably find it much easier to download and upload multiple files using the click and drag capability of Web Folder views (please see Using Windows Web Folders). Likewise, Macintosh users may find it much easier to download and upload multiple files using Macintosh webdavfs (please see Using Macintosh webdavfs).
CFI Extras for WebDAV with Internet Explorer on Windows
There are two extra features for WebDAV-controlled folders in the CFI for people using Internet Explorer on Windows. The first is that CFI views of WebDAV folders will also include this link at the top of the directory listing next to the folder path:
Clicking this link will open a Windows Web Folder view of the contents of this folder in Windows Explorer. (For more information on these links and what you can do with the Web Folder view, please see the section entitled Using Windows Web Folders. Only folders WebDAV enabled folders can be viewed in Windows Web Folders, and only folders WebDAV enabled folders will have the "Open Web Folder" link in their CFI listings.
The second extra feature is that for some Microsoft Office document types, an Easy Edit button will appear:
For more about this feature, please see the help section entitled Editing Microsoft Office Files in Windows; administrators should see the "Configuring Easy Editing in Windows" help sections for information on how to configure these special features, starting with Windows Client Security Settings.
Managing Files with the File Details View
You can invoke the File Details view from the CFI, as well as from attachments and Share Folders. See Inspecting and Managing Files via the File Details View for information on the file management capabilities supported in the File Details view.
