Title: How is WebDAV Used in Traction TeamPage

Since version 3.5, TeamPage access to its attachment and shared file repositories is provided in accordance with The WebDAV Standard. Specifically, all files and folders in the /db/ hierarchy are under WebDAV control for a journal that uses a WebDAV attachment store.

Note: By default, all Traction Journals are created using a WebDAV Attachment Store. The ability to switch to using a File Attachment Store when creating a new Traction Journal is provided only for legacy reasons. It is not recommended that you create a Journal using the File Attachment Store setting, as you will not have access to any of the WebDAV-based capabilities TeamPage provides.

TeamPage uses WebDAV for the following features:

  1. Provides Locking Files, check-out, check-in, Putting a File Under Version Control, and Autoversioning of files.

  2. Allows Editing Microsoft Office Files in Windows for both attachments and shared files.

  3. Lets you use the File Details View and the Document Management Interface to share and manage files.

  4. Allows access to files and folders as Windows Web Folders, or using Macintosh OS X WebDAV or other WebDAV client software.
