• Implemented authentication caching for NTLM. Rather than re-authenticating each socket connection, which can take several seconds when opening new windows, or when resuming browsing after the browser drops the current connection, Traction's default NTLM authentication behavior is now to authenticate periodically with NTLM and use an encrypted cookie to preserve the login session information. The period can be specified from 0 minutes (authenticate every connection) up to 24 hours using a new setting in the User Directory configuration page. Several customers using NTLM requested this change, which eliminates the long (sometimes 1-8+ second) delay users on networks with slow Active Directory servers see before Traction delivers content when configured to run with NTLM. • Clarified error message reported when the Traction TeamPage server cannot successfully connect to an Active Directory server using the credentials provided in order to authenticate users or look up group membership information.
