The widget of this plug-in automatically generates a TOC (table of contents) of the target article from the structure of the header lines (heading lines) such as H1, H2, H3 etc. in HTML.
Since the TOC is generated automatically, you will not feel painful to create links in a TOC manually any more. If you insert a new header line in your document, the corresponding link will be automatically inserted into the TOC.
Please make sure that the structure of the header lines is correct. If you start the structure from Header 1, don't skip a Header 2 before putting a Header 3. If you start it from Header 2, don't put a Header 1 in your article.
We already have the similar plug-in, Customer4251. I created this new TOC plug-in from scratch so that you can start the header structure from not only Header 1 but also the other levels.
If you have already used the "old" TOC plugin above in your articles, you don't have to edit your articles to replace the existing TOC widgets. This "new" TOC plug-in will automatically replace the "old" TOC widget in your articles with the "new" ones.
Click the link below to download com.traction.toc-NN.zip file. (NN means the version number.)
Install
Upload the zip file in Server Settings > Plugins page.
After uploading, you will see the I18N error. But don't worry. This error means "you need to restart TeamPage server to load the I18N resources (language files)."
Click [Restart TeamPage] in Server Settings > General > Manage Server page. If your TeamPage server is hosted in Traction's cloud environment, you will need to restart your server twice to load the I18N resources correctly.
After restarting, you will see that the plugin's name show up correctly.
How-To
Write an article, create a blank line and locate the cursor in the blank line.
Inserting the widget
Click [Insert/Edit Widget] button in the tool bar and select [Table of Contents] link.
The setting of the widget shows up. Fill-in and select if you need. Click [OK] to insert the widget.
Now the widget is inserted and shows up in the blank line.
Create the heading structure
Select a line which is supposed to be a header, click the drop-down list in the toolbar, and select a level of the header.
After setting the levels of the header lines, click the [Save] button to submit.
You will see that the TOC shows up in the article. When you click a link in the TOC, the page will scroll down to the corresponding header line.
