AIR PRODUCTS REPORTS THIRD QUARTER EARNINGS PER SHARE OF 63 CENTS
Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD) today reported net income of $141 million, or diluted earnings per share (EPS) of $.63 for its third fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2002. Net income was up seven percent and diluted EPS was up five percent compared with prior year results of $132 million and $.60 per share.

The first Sino-foreign telecom services joint venture officially launched its business today. Shanghai Symphony Telecom, which will market its services under the brand name—Unisiti—is a joint venture between AT&T, Shanghai Telecom (STC), and Shanghai Information Investment (SII).
