Improved Document Management Interface

TeamPage's document management interface has been revamped, and now supports a native move feature for moving files and folders.

JSON API and iOS Client Beta

• In order to support external clients, such as mobile devices and chat bots, the first part of a new com.traction.jsonapi plug-in is now included in TeamPage.

• We are also pleased to announce that we have a TeamPage iOS client in Beta. The TeamPage app lets you review discussions and notifications, tracks what you have read, and lets you add items to your worklist and reply via email. It also supports offline reading and replying to downloaded content. It's a handy way to keep up with activity in TeamPage using your iPhone or iPad when you're away from your desk. If you are interested in joining the beta program, please email iosbeta@tractionsoftware.com. Update 13 May 2016: You can now download the free TeamPage App from Apple's iOS App Store.

Bug Fixes

• The reset password view, which is used with the "Forgot your password?" feature that can be optionally enabled on TeamPage's login form, now displays any applicable password requirements, such as minimum length or minimum numbers of special characters. Previously, these requirements were listed in other contexts where TeamPage user account passwords are being chosen, but not on this page. (Server80343)

• Fixed a bug that prevented the font selector in the Proteus skin's Customize dialog from having any effect. (Proteus14034)

• Fixed a bug that could prevent localizations of TeamPage's rich text editor for certain languages (including French) from being correctly loaded. TeamPage still uses the TinyMCE rich text editor with various customizations. (Server80445)

• Fixed a bug that prevented the New Article form from being launched from an All Spaces view if the requesting user no longer had Author permission in the last space in which they created an entry. (JPBO11319)

• Fixed a bug with the TractionPublish Java client that prevented files from being attached if they were not located in the working directory for the script process. (JPBO11730)

• Fixed an issue that could prevent email notifications from being sent in certain situations when a user changed their locale. (JPBO11370)

• Fixed a bug that could prevent the appearance of an expanded dashboard section's title and "Add" button, and fixed the style of the "Add" button. (Proteus11380 / Proteus14084)

• Fixed a bug that caused the feedback dialog to be raised when a user failed to choose a target space when saving the contents of an entry form as a template. Entry forms that support saving and loading of templates now correctly handle validating the choice of space so that not choosing a target space will show the usual warning or error message directly in the form rather than showing the feedback dialog, which is only appropriate for reporting genuine issues (such as possible defects) to us here at Traction Software. (Proteus11381)

• Fixed a bug that could cause an error to occur when attempting to access the "Templates" menu from certain entry forms, such as the File / Folder Description form. (Server80346)

• Fixed an issue that prevented templates listed in the "Templates" menu in certain forms from being correctly filtered by type. The templates menu is intended to offer only those template entries that are compatible with the current form. (Proteus14121)

Update: Fixed a problem with 6.1.12 that could cause the URLS for expanded sections in skins other than Proteus to be wrong.

Other Changes

• There have been many "under the hood" improvements to the part of the Traction SDK that cover integration with external search engines, with the goal of making external search engine features more reliable.

• Changed the way that network errors (such as may happen if a TeamPage server becomes unreachable) are handled. In some cases, an alert dialog would be displayed indicating the problem, but would steal focus from the page; and in other cases, the Feedback dialog would be raised, prompting the user to treat this as an issue to be reported back to us at Traction Software. These errors, in any context, will now cause an explanatory message to be temporarily displayed in the status message bar. This will still allow the user to be aware of the issue, which is most likely due to either environmental issues on their end (e.g., internet connectivity problems) or to the TeamPage server being temporarily offline, without causing possibly multiple alert or feedback dialogs to be raised (and to have to be dismissed or, in the case of the feedback dialogs, submitted). This change may be of particular interest to TeamPage customers who have users with known intermittent connectivity issues. (Proteus14098)

• Support for the Calibri font has been added to the Proteus skin, as well as to the Print Version skin, and PDF export options. (Support for this font in PDF export requires that the font be installed and available on the TeamPage server's operating environment.) (Server80266 / Server80267)

• The section table widget now supports sections driven by external search engine queries. (Proteus10176 / Server80693)

• RSS and Atom syndication feeds now support results for individual all spaces dashboard sections, space dashboard sections and user profile dashboard sections. (Proteus3109)

• The Documents page's network drive link is now easier to spot, and the accompanying help tip has been improved. (Proteus14019)

• Profile picture images are now displayed as cropped and/or resized squares.

• Entries of type "Folder Description" may now be found using an appropriate filter. (JPBO10977)

• Improved the efficiency of certain types of self-induced requests. (Server80380)

• For SEW customers, the hover menu for individual files (either in a single file view, or in external search engine results) now includes a "describe" item that will allow a user who has permission to do so to create or edit an entry that contains an authored description of the file. (Proteus14079)

•The factory default for the "Reference Types to Be Displayed as Comments" user preference now includes "describes": by default, entries with outgoing references of type "describes" will now be displayed as comments on the entries to which they refer. (Server80315)

For Developers

External Search SDK API

The Traction SDK external search integration API (mostly contained in the com.traction.sdk.search package) has undergone extensive changes. If you have custom Java code that has been written to this API and which no longer compiles, please file a new support request for assistance updating your code to work with the updated API. Note that the attivio.* SDL tag set that is part of the Attivio AIE premium search module, and which uses this API, has been updated concurrent with this release and will continue to work the same as it ever has.

Other Changes

• Fixed the longstanding issue that most gwt.rpc.view SDL tags used in the implementation of the expanded feed entry rendering (type=feedentry_) were ignored. All the ViewData objects that are created by gwt.rpc.view tags used in this context will be rendered, not just the main "HTML" ViewData and "Deferred" ViewDatas, as was previously the case.
