Title: re: Can digests be generated based on tags? - Customizing the TeamPage Email digest.

Hi, John. The contents of digests is completely customizable via section definitions, with defaults set per server, and users inheriting those defaults unless they set up their own preferred sections. Articles that match the section query since the last digest was generated for each user will be included in that user's digest.

You can configure all the usual sorts of queries for digest sections, including tag-driven queries if that's what you want, with the optional search expressions and other settings, etc., applied to each one. So if you want a query that shows all entries that were created in the given time span, with the tag "maintenance" and which also have the "p1" tag, you'll want a section configured something like this (as you may already be familiar with):

The schedule of the digest is completely separate. You can set up a server digest schedule. Note that individual users can opt out of that, but as a server administrator, you can opt them back in.

See server settings > Email > Digest for the general digest configuration options, including server digest schedules (Server Digest Times) which go by time of day and day of the week; and configuring which users are going to get digests on the server scheduled times (Recipients of Server Digests).

See server settings > Defaults > User Subscriptions > Email Digest to set up the default sections and other default user preferences pertaining to the digest.

See the personal settings > Subscriptions > Email Digest for an individual user account to customize digest sections and schedules for that user.

To get an idea of what you'll see in your own digest, back in another tab from, e.g., the home page, type a command like this:

/::* week type digest_html

This will show you one week's worth of activity in the digest, covering all spaces (this simply indicates which spaces should be expanded when your section queries reference "Digest Spaces").

I should also mention that by default in the "Block 2" digest skin, the content of sections is not rendered directly like it would be if, e.g., the sections appeared on a space dashboard. Instead, the section queries are evaluated to figure out which entries are going to appear, and then a special "activity" rendering is produced. To change this behavior, launch the Digest skin configuration dialog under server settings > Defaults > User Subscriptions > Email Digest:

and then change the "Group by Activity Instead of by Section" setting from yes to no.

I hope this information helps. Let me know if you have other specific questions.
