First, download the 32- or 64-bit Windows installer from the Traction TeamPage Server Installers Page. If your system
is a 32-bit system, you must download the 32-bit installer (otherwise the installer will fail to run). If your system is a 64-bit system, you should download the 64-bit installer; otherwise, TeamPage will not be able to take advantage of the resources of your 64-bit system.

Note: The installer requires at least a 256-color display to run.



The splash screen appears and lets you choose the language you would like to use for installing.



After choosing your language and clicking OK, you arrive at the license agreement panel. Read the license agreement, then click the "I accept the terms of this License Agreement" radio button. You will not be able to continue the installation if you do not accept the license terms. If you do not wish to accept the terms, you may cancel the installation.



Next you will be asked to select the location where TeamPage should be installed.



This selector allows you to choose whether you would like to install TeamPage as a Windows service. A Windows Service is a program that runs invisibly in the background, and which is started automatically when the computer powers on.



In the unusual case that you planning to run more than one instance TeamPage on the same system, you should choose a different service name for each TeamPage instance. You can change the service name now if necessary. The name you choose will appear on the Windows Services control panel.



Next, you should choose the location of the license file provided to you. If you do not yet have a license file, you can get one from Welcome1. If necessary, you can skip this step and enter the license file later.



In some cases, Traction Software support may recommend you run with a different JVM than was bundled with the installer you are running. If this is the case, choose the location of the JVM to run with here.



Before installation commences you can review your settings.



TeamPage will then be installed on your system.



After file copying completes, you can optionally configure the initial network settings. If you are running multiple instances of Traction on the same computer, either the port must be different for each instance, or you must specify a different bind address for each instance and check the "Bind to a specific IP address" checkbox.



Next, if you installed a service, you are given the opportunity to start the service.



If everything succeeds you will see the confirmation panel.



When you click Done, you will be redirected to the TeamPage web interface. If you are using Internet Explorer, you may need to click Allow Blocked Content in order to be properly redirect to TeamPage.



If you skipped installing a license, you can do so now—see Installing a License.

When TeamPage has finished starting up, you will arrive at the initial setup page.



After completing the initial setup page, you will be able to log into TeamPage using your new account.

Note: the online documentation shows screenshots and examples from TeamPage 4.x, but most of the techniques can be applied directly in TeamPage 5.x.
