Title: Project Setup - Status

Activating and Deactivating the Project

This page lets you activate or deactivate the project. The checkbox labeled This project is active and should appear on the list of projects controls whether the project is active or not. It is the identical control that appears in Server Setup - Project Tab. Often administrators will create a project in the Inactive state, then activate it when they have finished the configuration. If you go through the configuration steps by visiting each of the tabs in sequence, this makes it convenient to activate the project.

The Moderation Project

By default comments and TrackBacks relating to an article are recorded in the same project as the article.

You can instead force comments and TrackBacks to be posted to a different project that you specify. This project is referred to as the Moderation Project, since the primary use of this mechanism is to allow people to post comments to a project to which they don't have read permissions. A moderator can then select which comments to make visible and cross-label them to be visible in the original project.

Normally the Moderation Project for HR would be HR. Here we've changed it to Comment:

This will change the default project selected in a dynamically inserted inline comment form:

If the user has Comment permission in the current project, that project will be selected in the inline comment form in a single entry view. Note that regardless of what is selected by default, users can still select any project to which they have Comment permission.

If you wish to require that comments be posted to a particular moderation project, you can click the checkbox:

For information on how TrackBack works with the moderation project, see Trackback InboundSetup.
